Problem

You work for a travel agency called YHS Travel and want to create a spreadsheet that will determine how much spending money people will have in different countries. Given how much a person has in American dollars and how much they have in the foreign currency you will find out how much money it is given the current exchange rate. Your spreadsheet will be organized into different sections of the world to make it easier to follow.

Currency Exchange Assumption Table

Instructions

  1. Add the assumption table above to the top of your spreadsheet.
  2. Add the following 3 tables to your spreadsheet. Leave at least 3 rows in between each table.
Europe TableAsia & Pacifica TableAfrica & The Middle East Table
  3. Using your assumption table and locking cell references in place using $ you will create formulas for the columns U.S. Money Spent and Foreign Money Spent. For U.S. Money Spent you will need to divide Foreign Spending Money by the exchange rate for each country. For Foreign Money Spent the exchange will be based on the number in the U.S. Spending Money cell (from the assumption table) multiplied by the exchange rate.
  4. Be sure to round all your money spent to 2 decimal points and all exchange rates should be rounded to 4 decimal points.
  5. Convert any U.S. dollar amounts to Currency Style. Any other monetary values should be left as normal numbers.
  6. For each continent grouping you will need to find the Average, Max, and Min for each column. Be sure that they are labeled as Average, Highest, and Lowest.
  7. Format your spreadsheet to make it look nice. Make sure it has a title that makes sense.
  8. Time to check your answers. Because you have three tables you will need to check each separately. AutoSum the averages for each separate continent including the exchange rate average. Enter the amount in the correct box below.
    Europe

    Type your answer without commas:

    Asia & Pacifica

    Type your answer without commas:

    Africa & Middle East

    Type your answer without commas:

  9. The first pie chart will include ONLY the averages from the column Foreign Money Spent of each Continent Grouping (which means you will have only 3 numbers in this chart).
  10. The second pie chart will include ONLY the averages from the U.S. Money Spent column of each Continent Grouping (again, you will only have three numbers in this chart).
  11. Give a title to each of your charts.
