Computer Science Class Policies

Computer Science Department at Yorkville High School

Correcting Projects: Projects can be corrected until all possible points have been earned. There may be a limited amount of time for you to correct projects so ask your specific teacher if projects need to be corrected by a specific date.

Food & Drink: Food and drink are allowed in the lab, but should not be consumed near the computers. Your teacher should tell you at the beginning of the year where you may eat or drink in the room, but ask if you aren't sure.

Late Policy: There is usually no penalty for late work, but the missing work will be listed as a "0" in the gradebook until it is turned in.

Personal Electronics: Personal electronics, including laptops, tablets, smart phones, etc. may be used in computer science classes, with permission, for educational purposes only. Personal electronics should always remain in view on the table, however.

Plagiarism: Work you do in class must be your own, including computer code. If you get help or code from any other person (a classmate, someone online, etc.) please note the source of the help in your project.

Proxies: Do not use web proxies or any other method to access blocked sites without your teacher's permission. Sometimes there are legitimate reasons to avoid the filter, but your teacher needs to be informed first.
