Mrs. Kim Etienne - ketienne@y115.org
Mrs. Kim Etienne went to Mt. Zion High School in Mt. Zion, Illinois (just outside of Decatur) and currently lives in Sycamore with her husband, Michael, and son, Samuel. In addition, she has two daughters and a granddaughter. Mrs. Etienne has also lived in Germany, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Colorado. She graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Business Education where she made the dean’s list multiple times.
Due to her travels, Mrs. Etienne left teaching and worked in the business field for many years. Many of those years were spent as an executive assistant to a company vice president, supervising an office of approximately 20 employees and overseeing travel arrangements that took employees all over the world. In addition, there was time spent in administration at a collection agency and in grain accounting where she was responsible for collecting and paying multi-million dollar contracts with customers from other countries.
Mrs. Etienne's had always hoped to return to teaching high school one day and when the opportunity presented itself she jumped. Her first year back in the field was at Eisenhower High School in Decatur. Within a month of school starting her husband changed jobs and moved to Sycamore. She made the difficult decision to stay in Decatur for the full year and moved that summer. She has been at Yorkville since.
